Hello,

I'm Jonnie

I'm a Product Design Leader & DEIB Advocate that leads a global multi-disciplinary design team at Lenovo. I'm passionate about building diverse teams that design inclusive and ethical technologies for everyone.

My team's focus is to design meaningful hardware and software experiences for Lenovo's incubation businesses using new and emerging technologies. Over the last few years, we've launched some of the world's most innovative solutions including the ThinkReality A6, ThinkReality A3, ThinkSmart View, and ThinkSmart Manager. My team includes senior managers, human factors engineers, UX designers, interaction and motion designers, UX researchers, scientists, prototypers, and developers.

Prior to Lenovo, I managed a 35-year-old printing company, Arrow Reprographics, where we doubled our revenue in under 1.5 years. In 2016, we sold the business to one of our competitors. Before small business owneship, I launched several startups while pursuing my MBA at the McCombs School of Business. My concentration was at the intersection of design and business strategies.

I started my career at Johnson & Johnson designing medical devices for the most complex joint replacement solutions on the planet. During my five years there, I designed more than 1600 instruments as a Lead Industrial Designer and Human Factors Engineer and received several patents for my work.

Currently, I am finishing up my Master of Education at Harvard University where I focus on the intersection of DEIB, education, and emerging technologies. This graduate program allowed me to take courses at Harvard Graduate School of Education, MIT Media Lab, and Harvard Business School.

Outside of work, I enjoy running, writing, and playing board games with my family. I also mentor new designers and teach UX across various platforms and classrooms.
